Raymond Bertino is the immediate past president of ISAM. He went to Medical School at the University of Michigan. Ray graduated both AOA and with Honors in 1982. He did 2 years of Pediatric Residency at what was then called Children’s Orthopedic Hospital in Seattle (now Seattle Children’s Hospital). He then completed a Radiology Residency and Fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Washington. He moved to Peoria in 1988 to practice Interventional Radiology and Vascular Ultrasound. He is a Clinical Professor of Radiology and Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria. As a radiologist, he was active in the Illinois Radiological Society and in the American College of Radiology (ACR). He has served as President of the Illinois Radiological Society. He is a Fellow in the ACR and in the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound. Since retiring from radiology practice in 2016, Dr. Bertino has been involved in addiction medicine advocacy. In addition to his work at ISAM, he is a member of the Governmental Affairs Council of the Illinois State Medical Society and a member of the Regional Perinatal Addiction Committee at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
